Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 ounces linguine or spaghetti

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Cook Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine or spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.

Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and olive oil together. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning them with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Combine: Add the lemon zest and juice to the skillet, followed by the cooked pasta. Toss gently to combine, adding a little reserved pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.

Garnish: Remove from heat and fold in the chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Plate the dish, garnishing with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately while piping hot.
