Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or a mix of basil, oregano, and thyme)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Activate the Yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Mix the Dough: Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.

Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Shape the Rolls: Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Place them in a greased baking dish, spacing them evenly.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian herbs. Brush half of this mixture over the rolls.

Let Them Rise: Cover the baking dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm area for 10 minutes.

Preheat the Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the Rolls: After rising, brush the remaining garlic butter mixture over the rolls and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
