Ingredients

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

4 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

Pinch of salt

3 tablespoons milk (or a non-dairy alternative)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or melted butter)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

In a microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz to prevent overflow), combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir well until all dry ingredients are mixed.

Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until you have a smooth batter with no lumps.

If you're using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter for an extra burst of chocolatey goodness.

Microwave the mug on high for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave, so keep an eye on it. The cake should rise and look set on top.

Let it cool for a minute (it will be hot!), then enjoy it straight from the mug. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

Prep Time: 2 minutes | Total Time: 5 minutes | Servings: 1 mug cake

Enjoy your quick and delicious treat!
