Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)

1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed saltine crackers)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.

Shape the mixture into four oval-shaped patties about 1/2 inch thick.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties to the skillet, cooking for about 5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.

Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth to deglaze, scraping any bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring the broth to a simmer and allow it to reduce slightly for about 3-4 minutes.

Return the patties to the skillet, allowing them to simmer in the broth for an additional 5 minutes. This will infuse the flavors and keep them moist.

Serve the Poor Man's Steak hot, garnished with fresh parsley, and accompanied by your favorite sides—mashed potatoes or green beans work wonderfully!
