Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp butter, melted

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), lemon juice, and melted butter. Mix well until the apples are thoroughly coated.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Lay them on a clean surface or baking sheet.

Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the apple mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. If using, sprinkle some chopped nuts over the filling.

Starting from the wide end, roll the crescent roll up towards the pointed end, pressing the edges to seal them well. Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them out a bit.

Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish, and sprinkle a little granulated sugar on top for extra sweetness.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and flaky.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
