2 slices of sourdough bread (or your choice of bread)

1 ripe avocado, sliced

1 medium-sized tomato, sliced (preferably heirloom for flavor)

4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

2 tablespoons pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil or softened butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prep the Ingredients: Start by slicing the avocado, tomato, and fresh mozzarella. Set them aside.

    Assemble the Sandwich: On one slice of bread, spread a thin layer of pesto. Layer on the avocado slices evenly, followed by the tomato slices, and then top with fresh mozzarella. Season with salt and pepper. If you like, add a few fresh basil leaves for added flavor.
