Ingredients

4 large croissants

8 slices of deli ham

8 slices of Swiss cheese (or cheese of choice)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Croissants: Slice each croissant in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom piece.

Spread Mustard: Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the inside of each croissant half.

Layer Ham and Cheese: Place two slices of ham on the bottom half of each croissant. Top with two slices of Swiss cheese. If desired, sprinkle some chopped chives, salt, and pepper over the cheese for added flavor. Then replace the top half of the croissant.

Brush with Butter: Place all assembled croissants on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds if using.

Bake: Bake the croissants in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
