Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until well combined.

In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until combined. If using, add chopped walnuts for added crunch and stir gently.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

In a small bowl, mix together an additional 1/2 cup of rolled oats, a tablespoon of brown sugar, and a tablespoon of flour to create a crumb topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the banana layer.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the crumble is set.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup before serving.
