1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium bananas)

For the Banana Pudding Layer:

1 box (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding mix

2 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)

For Topping:

Sliced bananas

Crushed vanilla wafers

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Brownie Base:

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined.

        - Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

          - In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

            - Finally, fold in the mashed bananas until evenly distributed.

              Bake the Brownies:

                - Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

                  - Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

                    - Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan.

                      Prepare the Banana Pudding Layer:

                        - In a bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and milk. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.

                          - Once thickened, fold in the whipped topping gently until fully combined.

                            Assemble the Dessert:

                              - Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the banana pudding mixture evenly over the top.

                                - Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the layers to set.

                                  Serve:

                                    - Before serving, top with sliced bananas and a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers for added texture and flavor.

                                      - Cut into squares and enjoy your delicious Banana Pudding Brownies!
