For the Bread:

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground ginger

1 cup pure pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)

½ cup vegetable oil

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup packed brown sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans work well)

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Set aside.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

        Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until the flour disappears. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.

          Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: In a separate bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and creamy.

            Layer the Batter: Pour half of the pumpkin bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread half of the cream cheese filling over the top. Add the remaining pumpkin batter and finish with the rest of the cream cheese filling. Use a knife to gently swirl the filling into the batter for a marbled effect.

              Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
