Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (or turkey for lighter option)

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped parsley

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

2 cups cooked pasta (penne or rotini recommended)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the mixture into meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

In a large casserole dish, combine the cooked pasta with the marinara sauce and stir until well coated.

Add the baked meatballs on top of the pasta mixture. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the meatballs.

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the casserole.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes to allow the cheese to become bubbly and golden brown.

Once finished, let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
