1. Activating the Yeast: Begin by warming your whole milk to a temperature of about 110°F (43°C). This warm milk will help to activate the yeast. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and the active dry yeast. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This indicates that the yeast is alive and ready to work its magic.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

½ cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

For the Filling:

¾ cup fresh or frozen blueberries

½ cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, salt, egg, and the yeast mixture. Mix well.

        - Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

          First Rise:

            - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

              Prepare the Filling:

                - In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter. Mix until smooth.

                  Roll Out the Dough:

                    - Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a 16x12 inch rectangle.

                      Assemble the Rolls:

                        - Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the rolled dough. Sprinkle the blueberries on top of the filling.

                          - Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seam to seal.

                            Cut and Arrange:

                              - Cut the log into 12 slices. Place the slices, cut side up, into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

                                Bake the Rolls:

                                  - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

                                    Prepare the Glaze:

                                      - While the rolls are baking, make the cream cheese glaze by mixing softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until smooth.

                                        Glaze and Serve:

                                          - Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately!
