Ingredients

1 pack of mini sausages or cocktail wieners (16 oz)

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

1 large egg (for egg wash)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried parsley (optional)

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Dipping sauces (ketchup, mustard, maple syrup)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases. Cut the sheet into rectangles, approximately 3 inches wide and 5 inches long.

Season Cheese: In a small bowl, mix shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, black pepper, and smoked paprika until well combined.

Assemble: Take a rectangle of puff pastry and place a mini sausage at one end. Top the sausage with about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture. Carefully roll the puff pastry over the sausage, sealing the ends to prevent filling from spilling out. Repeat until all sausages are wrapped.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and use a pastry brush to apply the egg wash over each wrapped sausage to give it a nice golden color when baked.

Bake: Place the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking tray with space in between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up and golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or even a drizzle of maple syrup for a sweet-savory experience.
