Ingredients

1 (15.25 oz) box of yellow cake mix

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup toffee bits (such as English toffee bits or chocolate-covered toffee)

1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional: pecans or walnuts)

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until everything is well combined. The mixture may be thick, which is normal.

Add Toffee and Nuts: Fold in the toffee bits, chopped nuts (if using), chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Spread into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread it evenly across the pan.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Cut: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, cut into squares or bars.

Serve and Enjoy: These toffee bars can be served warm or at room temperature. They're perfect for gatherings, as a snack, or a delightful dessert!
