Ingredients

2 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced

1 cup caramel sauce, divided

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 package (2 sheets) of puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dusting)

Optional: Caramel drizzle and whipped cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Apples: In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/2 cup of caramel sauce. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Roll out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out each sheet of puff pastry until slightly thinner. Cut each sheet into 4 squares for a total of 8 squares.

Fill the Pastry: Place a heaping tablespoon of the apple mixture in the center of each pastry square. Drizzle a small amount of the remaining caramel sauce over the apples.

Shape the Bombs: Fold the corners of each pastry square towards the center, pinching the edges to seal them completely. Ensure there are no gaps to prevent the filling from leaking out.

Egg Wash: Place the assembled bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
