Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

Sea salt flakes for topping

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter, then top with the remaining brownie batter and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10-15 minutes, then carefully lift them out using the parchment overhang.

Once completely cooled, cut into bars of your preferred size. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes on top for an extra touch of flavor.

Serve and enjoy these decadent brownie bars!
