Ingredients

8 slices of sourdough bread

8 oz sliced turkey breast

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced

6 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled

4 tbsp mayonnaise

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp black pepper

Fresh arugula or spinach, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Spread: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard until well combined. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwich: Lay out four slices of sourdough bread on a clean surface. Spread a generous amount of the mayonnaise-Dijon mixture on each slice.

Layer Ingredients: On each slice of bread, layer sliced turkey, crumbled bacon, and evenly distribute the cheddar cheese on top. Add arugula or spinach if desired.

Top with Bread: Place the remaining four slices of sourdough bread on top of the assembled fillings, pressing down gently to secure the ingredients.

Preheat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sprinkle the garlic powder and black pepper in the oil to infuse the flavor.

Grill the Sandwiches: Carefully place each sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted. You may want to press down slightly on the sandwiches with a spatula for even grilling.

Serve: Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Allow them to cool for a minute before slicing in half. Serve warm, paired with a side of chips or a simple salad.
