Ingredients

1 large loaf of crusty bread (such as French or Italian)

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

4-5 cloves of garlic (minced)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, plus extra for garnish)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, keeping the two halves attached at the back (like a book).

In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over both halves of the bread.

In another bowl, mix the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese together. Evenly sprinkle the cheese mixture over the buttered bread.

Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. For extra crispiness, you can wrap in aluminum foil and bake for the last 5 minutes uncovered.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Cut into slices and garnish with additional chopped parsley.

Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, garlicky goodness!
