1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced

3 cups broccoli florets, fresh or frozen

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon honey or sugar (optional, for sweetness)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken breast with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey (if using), sesame oil, and water. Stir until well combined and set aside.

      Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer and stir-fry until it is golden brown and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Remove the chicken from the wok and set aside.

        Sauté the Vegetables: In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp.

          Combine All Ingredients: Return the cooked chicken to the wok with the broccoli. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and broccoli, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

            Serve: Once everything is heated through and well combined, remove from heat. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
