Ingredients

For the Chicken:

1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ginger powder

1 large egg (lightly beaten)

Oil (for frying)

For the Sesame Sauce:

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

2 tsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 inch ginger (grated)

1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

2 green onions (sliced for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder. In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg. Dip chicken pieces into the egg, then coat them in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Transfer cooked chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili flakes (if using). Cook over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer. Continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine: Add the fried chicken to the pan with the sauce, tossing well to coat each piece evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the chicken is heated through and well coated.

Garnish & Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve your delicious sesame chicken over steamed rice or fried rice for a complete meal!
