Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil (for frying)

1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Chocolate sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until the mixture forms a smooth ball of dough.

Let the dough slightly cool before adding the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe small circles or bite-sized blobs directly into the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the fryer.

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Once cooked, remove the churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar until well-coated.

Serve immediately with chocolate sauce for dipping. Enjoy your homemade churros poppers!
