For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tbsp vinegar)

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk (more if needed)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

    Make the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, then mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

        Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until well mixed.

          Layer the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Then, drizzle half of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top. Add the remaining cake batter and finish with the rest of the cinnamon swirl. Use a knife to gently swirl through the batter for a marbled effect.

            Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

              Cool the Cake: Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

                Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk or sugar as needed.
