Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar, divided

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup whole milk

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

In another bowl, mix the melted butter, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

In a separate small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.

Pour the remaining batter on top and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over the top layer.

Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the batter to create a marbled effect, being careful not to over-mix.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
