Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and heavy cream. Stir together and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

Combine: Add the cooked fettuccine and shrimp to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss everything together until evenly coated. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Plate the shrimp Alfredo pasta, garnishing with chopped parsley. For an extra burst of flavor, drizzle with a bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice before serving.
