Ingredients

8 oz (225 g) pasta (your choice, such as penne or rotini)

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup vegetable or chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

In a large pot over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once heated, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the pasta, broccoli florets, vegetable or chicken broth, and heavy cream to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Season with onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and the liquid has reduced into a creamy sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Once the pasta is cooked to your liking, remove the pot from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash of water or extra broth to loosen it.

Serve the creamy broccoli pasta warm, garnished with fresh basil or parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
