Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

    Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Prepare the Garlic Butter: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

        Make the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze, releasing all those lovely brown bits. Allow it to simmer for about 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.

          Add Cream and Herbs: Stir in the heavy cream, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Bring to a simmer, and then lower the heat to keep warm.

            Mix in Parmesan: Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

              Combine Chicken with Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, flipping to coat them in the creamy garlic butter sauce. Let them simmer together for another 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.

                Serve: Plate the creamy garlic butter chicken and drizzle with extra sauce from the pan. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
