12 ounces penne pasta

1 pound chicken breast, diced

2 cups broccoli florets, blanched

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

      Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Add the minced garlic during the last minute of cooking, stirring until fragrant.

        Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, blanched broccoli, cooked pasta, heavy cream, basil pesto, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir well until everything is evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.

          Assemble the Bake: Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly and sprinkle the top with the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.

            Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

              Garnish and Serve: Once baked, allow to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
