Ingredients

1 lb potato gnocchi

1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

8 oz burrata cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Gnocchi: In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the gnocchi. Cook them according to package instructions, usually until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes and Cream: Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a gentle simmer. Add dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to taste. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes. Then, stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy and well combined.

Combine Gnocchi and Sauce: Gently fold the cooked gnocchi into the creamy tomato sauce. Cook together for another 2 minutes, allowing the gnocchi to absorb some of the sauce.

Serve: Divide the creamy gnocchi among plates. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and place it on top of each serving. Drizzle with a little extra olive oil, and sprinkle grated Parmesan and fresh basil leaves for garnish.

Enjoy: Serve hot and enjoy this delicious, comforting dish!
