Ingredients
  

1 lb pierogi (frozen or fresh, potato and cheese or meat-filled)

1 lb kielbasa, sliced into half-moons

1 large onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups sauerkraut, drained and rinsed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

Salt to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Layer Ingredients: In the bottom of a 6-quart crockpot, layer half of the pierogi. Top them with half of the sliced kielbasa, half of the chopped onion, and half of the sauerkraut. Repeat the layers again with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, onion, and sauerkraut.

    Mix Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, chicken broth, garlic, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until smooth.

      Pour Sauce: Pour the sour cream mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the crockpot. Ensure all ingredients are well covered.

        Cook: Set your crockpot to low and cook for 5-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, until pierogi are tender and flavors meld together.

          Add Cheese: During the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole. Cover and allow it to melt.

            Serve: Once cooked, stir gently to combine. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
