Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

3/4 cup water (adjust as needed)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center, add the olive oil and gradually pour in the water while mixing with a fork until the dough starts to come together.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time.

Rest the Dough: Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Prepare the Topping: While the dough is resting, mix the minced garlic with grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl. Set aside.

Shape the Flatbread: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Divide the rested dough into 4 equal portions. On a floured surface, roll out each portion into a thin oval or rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.

Transfer to Baking Sheet: Place the rolled flatbreads onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each flatbread with olive oil and sprinkle with a touch of sea salt.

Add the Topping: Evenly distribute the garlic-Parmesan mixture over each flatbread, pressing it down gently to adhere.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the flatbreads are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm, either on their own or with your favorite dip.
