For the Brownies:

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Brownie Batter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.

      Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.

        Combine Layers: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread it evenly to form a base layer. Dollop the cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter. Use a spoon or knife to swirl the cheesecake into the brownie batter for a marbled effect. Then, pour the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer and swirl again for a beautiful finish.

          Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

            Cool and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Let them cool completely before slicing into squares.
