Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced

1 onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, minced

1 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Stir to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion, stir-frying until they begin to soften, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, and stir-fry for an additional minute until fragrant.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet along with the beef broth and oyster sauce. Stir everything together and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Drizzle sesame oil over the dish and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the pepper steak over a bed of cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions.
