Ingredients

1 lb beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into 1-inch cubes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (optional for thickening)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Sear the Steak Cubes: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and sear them on all sides until browned (about 5-7 minutes). Remove the cubes from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Create the Gravy: Lower the heat to medium. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, and smoked paprika. Stir well to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Combine Steak and Gravy: Return the seared steak cubes to the skillet. Cover and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the steak to tenderize.

Thicken (Optional): If you prefer a thicker gravy, stir in the cornstarch mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.

Serve: Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
