Ingredients

1 box of brownie mix (any brand)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.

Sprinkle in the flour and a pinch of salt, mixing until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed in the dough.

Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. They will continue to firm up as they cool.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
