Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt to the mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!

Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips, reserving a handful of chocolate chips for topping.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter, then sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.

Cut into squares, serve, and enjoy your delicious Turtle Bars!
