Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour (heat-treated)

1 tablespoon milk (dairy or plant-based)

2 tablespoons chocolate chips (or more, for extra indulgence)

Instructions

In a small mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.

Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.

Gradually add in the heat-treated flour. (To heat-treat, simply spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to kill any potential bacteria.)

Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture comes together smoothly.

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Taste and adjust the sweetness or add more chocolate chips if desired.

Enjoy straight from the bowl or chill in the refrigerator for a firmer texture!
