Ingredients

4 large buttery croissants, torn into bite-sized pieces

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or cheese of your choice)

1 cup diced cooked ham (or cooked bacon)

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare Croissants: In a large bowl, place the torn croissant pieces. Drizzle with olive oil if desired for extra richness, and mix gently.

Whisk the Egg Mixture: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Combine Ingredients: Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces. Gently fold in the diced ham, chopped spinach, green onions, and shredded Gruyère cheese. Make sure the croissants are well-coated.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. You can sprinkle a bit more cheese on top if desired.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Let it Rest: Allow the casserole to cool for about 5-10 minutes before cutting into squares. This will help the casserole hold its shape.

Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm. Perfect for brunch or as an elevated dinner!
