Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Brussels Sprouts: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water, trim the ends, and cut them in half.

Coat for Crispiness: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until the sprouts are well-coated.

Roast the Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts out on a large baking sheet in a single layer, cut side down. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through.

Prepare the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the sprouts are roasting, prepare the sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil (if using). Bring to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

Coat with Sauce: Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the sprouts and toss gently to coat them evenly.

Finish Baking: Return the sauced Brussels sprouts to the baking sheet and spread them out again. Bake for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

Serve and Garnish: Transfer your extra crispy honey garlic Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added crunch and flavor.
