1 large loaf of crusty French bread or Italian bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional for extra cheesy goodness)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

      Slice the Bread: Take the loaf of bread and slice it in half lengthwise. If you prefer smaller pieces, you can slice it into individual pieces but keep the halves attached at the bottom.

        Spread the Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic herb butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to cover every nook and cranny for maximum flavor.

          Add Cheese (Optional): If you’re using mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, sprinkle them evenly over the buttered surfaces.

            Wrap and Bake: Wrap each half of the loaf in aluminum foil. This will help it steam and become soft and flavorful. Place the wrapped bread on a baking sheet.
