Ingredients

1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

½ teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, toss the trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until evenly coated.

Melt the Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest and thyme (or rosemary).

Combine Ingredients: Pour the garlic butter over the coated Brussels sprouts and toss well to ensure all the sprouts are evenly coated with the delicious garlic butter mixture.

Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are cut side down for better caramelization.

Bake: Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the sprouts are tender, tossing halfway through cooking for even browning.

Finishing Touches: Once done, remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese (if using) and chopped parsley for garnish.

Serve: Enjoy your Garlic Butter Roasted Brussels Sprouts warm, as a side dish to any main course or as a delightful appetizer!
