Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

1 cup cooked ham, diced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced ham, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet gently to smooth it out. Aim for a rectangular shape about ¼ inch thick.

Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the ham and cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

Roll the Pastry: Starting from one edge, carefully roll the pastry into a tight log shape. Make sure to roll it tightly to avoid any gaps.

Slice the Pinwheels: Once rolled, use a sharp knife to slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels. You should get around 12-15 pinwheels.

Apply the Egg Wash: Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.

Sprinkle Sesame Seeds: If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra texture and flavor.

Bake the Pinwheels: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels puff up and turn golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving warm.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 35 minutes | Servings: 12-15 pinwheels
