Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups cooked elbow macaroni

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (corn, peas, and carrots)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup crushed tortilla chips (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

Add Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Mix Ingredients: Stir in the cooked macaroni, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, frozen mixed vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is combined.

Layer in Casserole Dish: Transfer the beef and macaroni mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish. Spread evenly.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.

Optional Toppings: If you want an extra crunch, sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top of the cheese for a delicious texture contrast.

Bake: Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil (to prevent excessive browning) and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once finished baking, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
