Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 (30 oz) package frozen hash browns ( shredded)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional for extra flavor)

1/2 cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, hash browns, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Stir until everything is well combined.

Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish with cooking spray or butter, ensuring even coverage.

Layer the Mixture: Pour the chicken and hash brown mixture into the prepared casserole dish. Spread it out evenly with a spatula, so it’s flat across the top.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Before serving, garnish with sliced green onions for an added burst of freshness.

Enjoy: Scoop out portions, serve hot, and enjoy this hearty, comforting dish!
