Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped green onions for garnish

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until well combined.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure each fillet is well coated. Allow it to marinate for 10 minutes.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the salmon fillets to the pan, skin side down if applicable.

Cook the Salmon: Sear the salmon for about 4-5 minutes without moving it, allowing a beautiful crust to form.

Baste: Carefully flip the salmon fillets and spoon some of the remaining marinade from the pan over the top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the salmon to absorb the flavors and cook through (internal temperature should reach 145°F).

Serve: Remove the salmon from the pan and let it rest for a minute. Drizzle with any remaining pan sauce, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
