Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Nuts (such as pecans or walnuts), for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie pan.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined (do not overmix!). Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared pie pan and smooth it out evenly.

Drizzle the hot fudge sauce over the batter, making sure to cover as much surface area as possible.

Pour the remaining batter over the fudge sauce, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the outer edges comes out clean, but the center remains fudgy.

Remove from the oven and let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. It will continue to set as it cools.

Serve warm with a generous dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. If desired, sprinkle with nuts for added crunch.
