Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 can (4 oz) sliced jalapeños (optional)

8 large flour tortillas, cut into strips

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until the meat is fully cooked and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups, sour cream, drained diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños (if using), garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and heated through.

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the tortilla strips on the bottom.

Spread half of the beef mixture over the tortillas, followed by a layer of half of the shredded cheddar cheese.

Repeat the layers with the remaining tortilla strips, beef mixture, and top with the final layer of cheese.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
