Ingredients

For the fries:

2 large russet potatoes (or 1 bag of frozen fries)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper (to taste)

For the toppings:

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup taco seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken (optional)

1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

1 medium ripe avocado, diced

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (pickled or fresh)

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup salsa

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Fries:

    - If using fresh potatoes, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

      - Wash and cut the russet potatoes into thin slices or wedges. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

        - In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

          Bake the Fries:

            - Spread the potato slices (or frozen fries) in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

              - Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

                Add the Cheeses:

                  - Once the fries are cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven. Sprinkle a generous layer of both cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the hot fries.

                    Top with Additional Ingredients:

                      - If using ground beef or chicken, sprinkle it over the cheese. Then, add black beans, diced tomatoes, and jalapeños on top.

                        - Return the loaded fries to the oven for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

                          Serve:

                            - Remove the nacho fries from the oven and allow them to cool for a minute. Drizzle sour cream and salsa over the loaded fries.

                              - Top with diced avocado, chopped green onions, and fresh cilantro, if desired.

                                Enjoy:

                                  - Serve the Ultimate Cheesy Loaded Nacho Fries hot, right from the baking sheet, with extra salsa on the side for dipping!
