Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb breakfast sausage

1 (16 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel)

1 (10 oz) can chili beans, drained

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 packet ranch dressing mix

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)

Tortilla chips or veggies (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Meats: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and breakfast sausage together until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Make sure to drain off any excess fat.

Combine the Cheeses: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili beans, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese. Mix until well combined.

Season the Mixture: Stir in the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Mix in the Meats: Add the cooked meat mixture to the cheese mixture, stirring until everything is evenly incorporated.

Bake the Dip: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the dip mixture to a baking dish (9x13 inch works great) and spread it out evenly.

Bake: Place the dip in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is hot and bubbly and the edges are slightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Sprinkle sliced green onions on top for garnish. Serve warm with tortilla chips or fresh veggies for dipping. Enjoy your hearty Texas Trash Dip!
