Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced on the diagonal

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for garnish)

Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat until it’s bubbly but not browned.

Add the sliced bananas to the pan, spreading them out evenly.

Cook for about 2 minutes on one side, then gently flip the slices to cook the other side, for an additional 2 minutes. They should be golden brown and caramelized.

Sprinkle the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt over the bananas.

Pour in the vanilla extract and gently toss to combine, allowing the sugar to melt and create a syrupy glaze. Cook for another minute or until everything is well coated.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Serve warm, garnished with chopped walnuts or pecans and fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy your delightful treat!
