Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, sliced into rounds

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: A handful of chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for crunch

Optional: A drizzle of honey for serving

Instructions

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to bubble.

Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to the skillet, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is bubbly and caramel-like.

Carefully add the sliced bananas to the skillet, making sure they are coated with the cinnamon mixture.

Fry the bananas for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and slightly caramelized.

Stir in the vanilla extract and, if using, the chopped nuts for added texture. Cook for an additional 1 minute to combine.

Remove from heat and serve warm, drizzling with honey if desired. These can be enjoyed alone, over pancakes, or with a scoop of ice cream!
